Tasktop, a provider of application life-cycle management (ALM) integration technology, announced the availability of Tasktop Sync 3.0, a major release of its flagship Software Lifecycle Integration platform. The release extends ALM into IT Service Management as well as the help-desk tools from Atlassian Service Desk and ServiceNow, including even more of the software development and delivery team.

The latest Tasktop Sync version also provides new capabilities for teams using products from Serena Software and Rally Software, special capabilities for teams using JIRA and Clarity PPM together, and for large organizations deploying the release across numerous project teams.

By including support for solutions from Rally, agile development processes are easily collaborated with teams that use other Sync ecosystem tools. The partnership between Serena and Tasktop extends business process automation capabilities with the integration of Serena Business Manager and third-party ALM systems. The extension of Clarity PPM support for companies using JIRA time tracking feature allows IT organizations to coordinate business priorities with development activities and progress.

“The software life cycle is only as efficient as its weakest and most manual link,” said Mik Kersten, cofounder and CEO of Tasktop. “To date, development and support teams struggled with constant escalation e-mails, unnecessary meetings, or brittle point-to-point import tools. As is the case with other life-cycle processes that we’ve helped automate, Tasktop Sync 3.0 changes the game with an enterprise-grade integration bus that now supports all members of software delivery teams, even in the largest of IT organizations.”

Other features of TaskTop Sync 3.0 include configuration templates to prompt more efficient and rapid deployments through configurations of synchronizations that can be reused across many projects.

With the release, Tasktop also announced a beta program for the Tasktop Sync SDK and the next version of Tasktop Dev 3.0, its desktop ALM integration product.
