Ansible today announced its 2014 lineup of products and pricing intended to make IT automation as simple as possible. Developers, sysadmins and DevOps practitioners have recently made Ansible a top 10 Trending Python project and the most popular open source project on GitHub for IT automation and configuration management—with more ‘watches,’ ‘stars’ and ‘forks’ than any other comparable project.

“The Ansible core project is less than two years old, and has exploded in popularity due to the simplicity of the approach and the creativity, dedication and ideas of the Ansible community,” said Saïd Ziouani, CEO of Ansible, Inc. “As the company supporting Ansible, our goal is to deliver products and pricing, and a powerful new IT automation brand that brings the power of Ansible to the enterprise and delivers our promise of being the simplest way to automate IT.”

In response to the community momentum, Ansible is releasing new and updated 2014 products and pricing intended to serve the needs of Ansible users.

Brand new Ansible Guru subscription enables Ansible command-line users
To support sysadmins and developers who are learning open source Ansible or using Ansible every day, Ansible’s new Guru subscription provides users with help and advice on building Ansible Playbooks, troubleshooting, architecture suggestions, and general how-to’s and best practices. Guru subscribers also receive additional benefits, such as special product and event discounts, online training and Ansible t-shirts. Guru is priced at $99/month/user or $999/user/year.

New pricing makes Ansible Tower a no-brainer for push-button IT automation
Ansible Tower (formerly called AWX) is an enterprise-class IT automation solution designed for teams. It features an easy-to-use web app and REST API that allows you to bring the power of Ansible to the rest of the IT organization. Tower also includes powerful cloud features that dynamically sync with your Amazon AWS and Rackspace inventory and can assist with auto-scaling. New 2014 Tower pricing aims to make Tower accessible to any webops, devops or IT organization. Pricing starts at $2000/year, with volume discounts that allows a company to manage 1000 servers for $10/server/year.

“As organizations increasingly seek seamless continuous delivery to cloud environments, the need for tools to automate deployment becomes more and more acute,” said Stephen O’Grady, Principal Analyst with RedMonk. “This is what Ansible, with its agentless SSH based model and YAML-based automation language, was built for.”

Ansible: New company name, branding & website
Along with new products and pricing, the company is simplifying everything… including its name. AnsibleWorks has dropped the “Works” from its name and is launching a new brand identity and website to better represent the innovation of the Ansible community. Ansible Inc. will continue to fully support and invest in the Ansible core open source community, just as it has done to date. The company can now be found at ansible.com and @ansible on Twitter.

Ansible Guru and Ansible Tower are available for purchase today through Ansible’s simple online store at ansible.com.
