Google is introducing a new program in order to help developers find families on Google Play. With Designed for Families, developers can designate their age appropriate apps and games as family-friendly. In order for apps to be eligible for Designed for Families they must meet a couple requirements such as app display ads are child appropriate, apps are rated as ESRB Everyone or Everyone 10+ and apps don’t use Google+ sign-in.

In addition, Google revealed more plans for developers to promote its family content on Google Play are on the way such as ways for users to browser, search and discover apps and games for families.

“Participating apps will be eligible for upcoming family-focused experiences on Google Play that will help parents discover great, age-appropriate content and make more informed choices,” Eunice Kim, product manager for Google Play, wrote in a blog post.
