GrapeCity, the largest component solution provider in the Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Ecosystem, has announced the first 2015 release of its ComponentOne Studio product. GrapeCity ComponentOne Studio is a world-renowned suite of data management, data visualization, scheduling, input, editing, navigation, reporting and document generation and layout controls for Microsoft Visual Studio. The v1 release of the company’s Enterprise edition collection focuses on optimizing performance, enhancing data visualization, improving data management and delivering updated input and reporting solutions across Windows, web and mobile platforms.

“The GrapeCity .NET toolkit has been updated to include all the controls developers need to build modern-looking, high-performance and even touch-enabled applications,” said Bernardo Castilho, chief technology officer at GrapeCity. “We’ve enhanced our popular and versatile datagrid control, FlexGrid and expanded it so that it may be used with cutting edge technologies. Plus, we’ve extended the control to create C1FlexSheet, currently in beta, which provides more out-of-the-box Microsoft Excel functionality. Along with several reporting enhancements and new controls, GrapeCity ComponentOne Studio provides developers the desired tools to build modern applications as well as maintain and update legacy applications.”

The v1 Enterprise edition release includes a new set of modern UI controls for MVC built on all the latest technologies, including HTML5, CSS and ECMAScript 5, without making compromises to support legacy browsers. These fast and lightweight controls include data management, data visualization, project templates and professionally designed themes.  New controls include FlexGrid and FlexChart, along with an array of other chart, gauge, calendar and input controls.

“GrapeCity brings tremendous value to the Microsoft developer community given their comprehensive offering of products for all aspects of .NET development,” said Michael Washington, Microsoft MVP and founder of LightSwitchHelpWebsite.com. “Developers rely on GrapeCity tools and solutions to speed up their development efforts and reduce the costs and complexities associated with application development projects.”

For reporting and document generation, GrapeCity offers controls for report generation, design, preview, import, export and printing. With an improved look and feel and an enhanced migration utility for Crystal Reports, the GrapeCity report designer provides the ideal visual design surface to connect to data, create reports layouts, define styles and configure properties. For others looking to bring the power of SQL Server Reporting Services to Windows Store apps, there is also a new SSRS Viewer for WinRT. The new WinRT SSRS Viewer control is an easy way to embed SSRS reports directly into applications.

GrapeCity’s Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tool which allows users to connect to OLAP data sources from Microsoft® SQL Server® Analysis Services now features improved performance with asynchronous data processing in both Windows Forms (WinForms) and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). “The C1Olap controls will work in the background, freeing up the user interface thread so the application remains responsive,” shared Castilho. “With the combination of SASS Cube Support and asynchronous processing, users can build reports from cube data just like regular data sets at run time.”
