NodeSource, the Enterprise Node Company offering enterprise-grade solutions for Node.js development and operations, today announced a $10 million Series A funding round led by RRE Ventures, with participation from early investors Crosslink Capital and Resolute.vc. The additional financing will allow NodeSource to accelerate its development of products and services for Fortune 500 companies and other leading global corporations who are rapidly adopting Node.js.

“Enterprise adoption of JavaScript and Node.js has been on a steep curve – up 375% year over year. Developers have embraced the ability to quickly develop and run code anywhere, yet that agility and efficiency must be achieved through a mature development and deployment environment,” said Co-Founder and CEO Joe McCann. “With this additional support from leading investors, NodeSource will accelerate and expand upon its premier product N|Solid, an enterprise-grade Node.js runtime platform, as well as its professional services including N|Support, a Node.js development and operations support offering, architectural evaluations, and Node.js upgrade management services.”

Since raising a $3.4 million Seed round last year, NodeSource has experienced tremendous growth and momentum. In just 6 months, NodeSource has released their premier product N|Solid, grown their customer base by more than 120%, and signed a partnership agreement with Google, offering N|Solid on Google Cloud Platform.

“Early on in Node.js’ meteoric rise, NodeSource identified what would become a massive market opportunity: enabling Fortune 1000 clients to take full advantage of the Node.js runtime without sacrificing on the security, monitoring, and analytics requirements the commercial clients rely on to run their business,” said Raju Rishi, General Partner at RRE Ventures. “Our firm seeks to invest in category defining businesses that create, unlock, or transform a market. We know NodeSource has the leadership, technical talent, and devotion to the open source community to elevate Node.js to an enterprise-grade runtime for modern backend developers.”

“The addressable market opportunity for Node.js is huge – it’s the biggest I’ve seen this decade,” said Eric Chin, General Partner, Crosslink Capital, who backed NodeSource early with a seed investment. “In barely over a year since launching, Joe and his epic team have continued to punch above their weight and improve upon their technology offerings and with the launch of N|Solid, enterprise application development teams are lining up around the block.”
