Expanding beyond its well-received data visualization charting tool for Android applications, shinobicontrols has announced the release of the shinobitoolkit for Android.

The development kit, which features fast, multi-touch data grids, is a big step towards Android users experiencing complete consistency with shinobi’s native iOS controls.

Available as a free trial, the heavily customizable shinobitoolkit for Android allows developers to reorder their columns and rows through simple gesturing with multiple pre-build selection modes available.

Features include editable cell types that enable the use of AndroidView in each grid cell,  extensive styling options, comprehensive XML-based theming, and a frozen header row option.

There is also a comprehensive quick start guide as well as three sample apps covering reordering, styling and selection.

“This release should really speed things up for our android developers, as well as letting them enhance their apps with calendars, grids, carousels, gauges, accordians and other great features,” said Stuart Grey, chief operating officer for shinobicontrols.

“We’ve had great feedback from our customers – both enterprise and independent developers in healthcare, finance and fitness – that has helped us create the shinobitoolkit for android, so we’re grateful to each and every one of them, and are looking forward to making further improvements as we continue to grow.

“The explosion in consumer and enterprise interest in apps for wearables, health monitoring and and tracking business activity has created the need for better ways to manage data. This is another example of us helping developers to bridge that gap.”
