VANCOUVER, BC, October 28, 2014 – Tasktop, the leader in DevOps Integration and the creators of the Eclipse Mylyn open source tool, today announces Tasktop 4.0, a major product release for the company. Tasktop 4.0 advances the state of integration technology through an updated version of Tasktop Sync, the company’s DevOps Integration bus, and the addition of Tasktop Data, a new product that unlocks software lifecycle data from its application tool silos, and enables the discovery of new insights into the software delivery process.

Tasktop Data was inspired by the needs of Tasktop customers and partners to improve the software delivery decision-making process through timely information across the lifecycle. Tasktop Data leverages Tasktop’s unique knowledge of the semantics in the software development and delivery process, and deep knowledge of the tools that support the process, to provide a cross-product data repository for real-time analytics, across teams, projects, domains and tools. In other words, Tasktop Data provides a single source of up-to-date data across disciplines and tools. This data can be stored in any data mart, ready to be utilized in whatever reporting system an organization prefers. The result is better-informed decision making for a complicated and critical business process that is typically one of the largest cost centers in an enterprise.

“Getting access to the right data is crucial for any organization using Agile. Tasktop’s release of Tasktop Data will help many customers tap their internal data sources to build empirical data for evidence based management practices,” Said Ken Schwaber, Founder, scrum.org

“Tasktop Data is going to transform the way that enterprises manage their software delivery,” stated Dr. Mik Kersten, Tasktop Co-Founder and CEO. “Never before has it been possible to get visibility, traceability and metrics across the entire software lifecycle. Tasktop Data extends our portfolio of Tasktop Dev and Tasktop Sync, to create an integration fabric that drives enhanced collaboration, the flow of information, and end-to-end reporting no matter how complex the Agile/ALM/DevOps tool chain is.”

Tasktop Sync continues to lead the industry by enabling the flow and synchronization of artifacts across disparate tools, and collaboration among the teams, in the software development and delivery process. Tasktop Sync 4.0 further expands the Tasktop Sync ecosystem with support for additional ITSM, Requirements, Test and Development tools including BMC Remedy, Polarion ALM, Serena Dimensions RM, Tricentis Tosca, GitHub and IBM Bluemix. It also builds on Sync’s unique Artifact Relationship Management (ARM) capabilities, with support for the synchronization of constructs used for organizing artifacts, such as folders, projects and sprints, as well as the ability to mirror relationship types that do not exist in all of the tools being integrated.

Tasktop Sync, used by sixteen of the Fortune 100 and six of the top twenty five banks in the world, is established as the integration infrastructure for some of the world’s most demanding software development and delivery organizations.
