LEAD Technologies, Inc. has released two new LEADTOOLS add-on products for multi-platform and mobile device application development: Document HTML5 Module and Medical HTML5 Module. These products not only keep up with the latest in web development trends, but also provide LEADTOOLS imaging technology to a much broader spectrum of programmers targeting mobile devices and non-Windows platforms.
Each module includes an HTML5 and JavaScript image viewer control with support for both mouse and multi-touch (gesture) input, enabling the same application to run without any feature limitations on desktops, tablets and mobile devices. This viewer control also contains native HTML5 image annotation and markup, interactive modes and built-in image manipulation. The viewer can also communicate with RESTful and SOAP web services to add advanced features such as extended file format support (TIFF, PDF, DOC, etc.), OCR, Barcode and Image Processing.
The LEADTOOLS Medical HTML5 Module gives developers the ability to create zero footprint DICOM viewing applications without sacrificing any of the features healthcare professionals need. Window-leveling, series stacking, annotations and more are integrated with the viewer and require no plug-ins or installation. Combined with LEADTOOLS’ new RESTful web services, developers can make applications for viewing DICOM images anywhere, on your desktop, tablet or mobile device, from your local archive or a remote PACS using DICOM communication. To help developers get started, all of these features are included in an OEM-read, fully customizable demo with source code to expedite your development!
“‘LEADTOOLS Anywhere’ is our vision for the future of imaging development”, says Moe Daher, Chairman and CEO of LEAD Technologies. “That is, a single API that works on any desktop, tablet, or mobile device. The HTML5 and web service solution we are releasing today is a giant first step in achieving this vision.”
LEAD’s next step towards Daher’s vision is to release native libraries for WinRT/Metro, iOS and Android that cover the full spectrum of imaging technology including formats, image processing, OCR, Barcode, PDF, DICOM, PACS and more. These products are scheduled for incremental release during the second and third quarters of 2012.
