SecureAuth, a leading provider of identity enforcement technology for the enterprise, today launched SecureAuth IdP for Android, a Mobile Access Management solution that addresses the escalating use and security vulnerabilities due to bring your own device (BYOD) within the enterprise, and IT’s need for a consistent method for managing and enforcing identity and application access management policies. SecureAuth IdP for Android allows users of Android devices, which Gartner states represents 72% of worldwide mobile sales, to download an app and implement their own identity and application access management while enterprise IT maintains control of access policies.

“Companies are looking for ways to deal with BYOD where both corporate data and personal applications reside on an employee’s smartphone or tablet device,” stated Sally Hudson, research director of Security Products and Services Group at IDC. “However, as the number of mobile endpoints with sensitive corporate data increases, so too does the need to secure the data.”

“Managing devices, usernames and passwords, and remote access to corporate applications has become cumbersome for IT and left the enterprise unsecure,” stated Garret Grajek, chief technology officer at SecureAuth. “SecureAuth IdP for Android significantly streamlines this Mobile Access Management process by offering a client-less Mobile Device Management (MDM) whereby the enterprise receives the protection of MDM with the flexibility of BYOD. The enterprise gets the best of both worlds by allowing end users to take an active role in their identity and application management to securely use their devices at work, while IT maintains control of corporate access.”

Technical Information
SecureAuth enables enterprises to convert their existing web, SaaS and network applications into secure and configurable Android apps. Users download a SecureAuth for IdP Android app that can be pre- configured or dynamically modified to authenticate a portal, VPN or SaaS application. After a one-time registration process is complete, the app becomes a one-touch window to all corporate resources and offers two-factor authentication.

SecureAuth IdP for Android is based on the Android’s Dalvik cross-platform runtime engine and the existing default browser. It grants SSO from any Android device from high-end smartphone to low-end tablets.
