dtSearch Corp., a leading supplier of enterprise and developer text retrieval software, announces Version 7.67 of its product line.  The new version expands dtSearch’s proprietary file parsers and converters.  The parsers are integral to dtSearch’s ability to perform instant hit-highlighted searching across terabytes of data in file directories, emails and attachments, databases, and static and dynamic online content.  The parsers are also directly available to developers through native 64-bit and 32-bit Win/Linux C++, Java and .NET (through .NET 4) APIs.

What’s New? Version 7.67.  The new release expands the file parsers to add the option of direct Microsoft PST support, without having to go through MAPI.  dtSearch products can now directly access items in Outlook PST stores such as contacts, appointments and messages, along with the full-text of attachments, including zipped and nested attachments.  dtSearch products can then display all retrieved items with highlighted hits.  The new release also offers enhanced integration with Adobe Reader X.

Overview; Terabyte Indexer.  dtSearch enterprise and developer products can index over a terabyte of text in a single index, spanning directories, databases, online data, and emails.  The products can create an unlimited number of indexes, and simultaneously search them using 25+ full-text and fielded data search options.  Indexed search time is typically less than a second, even on terabytes of data.

Files and Emails.  dtSearch’s parsers enable automatic file type recognition, context extraction and hit-highlighted searching across MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word through current versions), OpenOffice, CSV, ZIP, HTML, PDF, XML/XSL and other popular file formats.  The parsers also enable hit-highlighted searching of Exchange, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc., data and attachments, including ZIP and other nested attachments.

International Languages.  dtSearch’s file parsers and converters support all Unicode languages, including both right-to-left languages, and special Chinese/Japanese/Korean character options.

Spider and Database Support.  The dtSearch Engine enables precision hit-highlighted searching of XML and SQL-type databases, along with BLOB data.  The Spider works with local and remote, static and dynamic (MS SharePoint, CMS, PHP, ASP.NET, etc.) web content.  Hit-highlighted searching can span any level of site depth, across any number of public and private or secure sites, including support for log-ins and forms-based authentication.  The Spider is built into the dtSearch product line, and accessible through a .NET API for programmers.

Win/Linux SDKs.  The dtSearch Engine makes available dtSearch’s file format support and instant searching for a wide range of Internet, Intranet and other commercial applications.  (For over a hundred developer case studies, please see www.dtsearch.com/casestudies.html.)  The dtSearch Engine has native 64-bit and 32-bit Win/Linux C++, Java and .NET (through .NET 4) APIs, including a 64-bit .NET 4 Spider API and sample code for the MS Azure cloud platform.

Faceted Search and Data Classification Objects. The dtSearch Engine offers a wide range of API filters and objects to support categorization via document full-text contents, document fields, SQL or XML database contents, or data attributes attached during indexing.  The dtSearch Engine also offers APIs for faceted searching.

dtSearch Product Line.  In addition to the dtSearch Engine for Win & .NET and the dtSearch Engine for Linux (see SDK description above), the new release also coversdtSearch Web with Spider for quickly publishing instantly searchable data to an Internet or Intranet site, dtSearch Network with Spider for instantly searching across a network, dtSearch Publish for publishing searchable data to portable media, and dtSearch Desktop with Spider for desktop search.
