CA Technologies has entered an agreement to acquire Rally Software for US$480 million, the company announced today.
The deal will allow CA to absorb Rally’s agile project-management software into its DevOps and cloud management portfolios. Rally offers software solutions focused on scaled agile development, analytics and metrics, product and portfolio management, and enterprise team collaboration. Products include community and enterprise editions of Rally’s agile solutions, and the Flowdock inbox-management tool for developers.
CA is buying Rally at $19.50 per share. Rally accrued software and services sales of $88 million in fiscal year 2015, and reported more than 4,000 enterprise customers worldwide.
The acquisition is expected to close in the second fiscal quarter of 2016.
