Intrinsyc Software International (“Intrinsyc”) (TSX:ICS), a leading developer of mobile and embedded devices, today announced general availability of its Mobile Development Platform Tablet (“MDP/T”), based on a Qualcomm® Snapdragon 805 processor from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. Intrinsyc’s MDP/T is designed to provide application developers and device manufacturers with early access to a high-performance mobile platform, for developing, testing, optimizing and showcasing next-generation apps and games.
The MDP/T provides users with access to one of the latest Snapdragon processors from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., allowing developers to create, test and optimize software on one of the most advanced mobile processors available. The Snapdragon 805 processor, with up to 2.7 GHz with quad-core CPUs, features a Qualcomm Adreno 420 Graphics Processing Unit (“GPU”), which includes support for hardware tessellation and geometry shaders, as well as advanced 4K rendering for realistic scenes and objects and visually stunning graphics and mobile gaming experiences. As one of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s most advanced mobile processors to date, the Snapdragon 805 processor helps enable breakthrough user experiences, and is one of the first mobile processors designed to enable an end-to-end Ultra HD solution.
The MDP/T features a 10.06” WQHD (2560×1440) display, 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of high-speed storage. It also has support for Hollywood Quality Video video post processing, hardware-based HEVC (H.265) encode and decode for extremely low-power UltraHD video recording and playback. It also features one of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s most advanced Wi-Fi for mobile, state-of-the-art two-stream dual-band Qualcomm VIVE 802.11ac, helping enable wireless 4K video streaming and other media-intensive applications. Other advanced features include dual infrared cameras for 3D gesture recognition, a fingerprint scanner, and 7 microphones for surround sound recording and ultrasound pen and gesture support.
The MDP/T comes with the Android 4.4 (KitKat) operating system and powerful preinstalled development and optimization software including the Snapdragon Performance Visualizer by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and a special version of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s Trepn profiler that is designed to display the power consumption of individual hardware power rails. The Snapdragon Performance Visualizer is a suite of software tools for system performance monitoring, profiling and debugging. These tools are designed to help make it easier to locate and resolve performance bottlenecks, so applications perform at peak levels. Access is also provided to the Snapdragon Software Development Kit (“SDK”), Adreno profiler, Trepn plug-in for Eclipse, Qualcomm Vuforia mobile vision platform, and the AllSeen Alliance’s open source AllJoyn software framework.
“Application developers can break out from the competition by utilizing the advanced technology and tools provided by the MDP/T based on the Snapdragon 805 processor from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.,” said Tracy Rees, Chief Executive Officer for Intrinsyc. “We are excited to help accelerate the development of the world’s most advanced mobile applications with the MDP/T and our intimate knowledge of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s Snapdragon processor technology.”
