Perforce Software announced the availability of P4Ant, a new integration between its Software Configuration Management (SCM) system and Apache Ant, the popular Java-based build tool. This integration includes advanced Perforce capabilities that support agile development and continuous integration in large distributed environments.
“Using P4Ant gives Java developers powerful agile tools for managing their source code and building projects faster,” said John Walker, senior marketing manager at Perforce Software. “As development teams grow and projects become more complex, developers need systems that easily scale to support large globally distributed JEE projects.”
P4Ant supports all of the latest Perforce capabilities, including continuous build features. With Perforce shelving, build engineers can more efficiently test changes made in distributed development and build environments before submitting them to the project. P4Ant also supports tasks that provide information on the latest changes, and that link builds to Perforce’s built-in defect-tracking system.
Like Ant, Perforce SCM is cross-platform, extensible, simple to learn and use, and fast. For a free trial, download and evaluate Perforce at http://www.perforce.com/perforce/download_eval.html. This offer includes free technical support during evaluation.
