Vungle, the global leader for in-app video advertising, announced today with Microsoft the availability of the Vungle software developers kit (SDK) for Windows 10. In addition to existing support for iOS and Android, Vungle now offers the first global monetization and user acquisition platform via in-app video advertising for devices running the Windows 10 operating system, including smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs.

According to eMarketer, spending on in-app advertising in the U.S. alone is on pace to hit nearly $30 billion in 2016, and this category continues to grow with the adoption of apps on non-mobile devices such as PCs, connected TVs, smart home appliances and wearables. Windows 10 allows developers to build apps on the Universal Windows Platform that work on an array of devices.

“With consumers spending nearly 90 percent of their on-device time inside applications, it’s clear there’s a massive opportunity for in-app video advertising done right. Vungle makes it easy for everyone — from game developers to brands and ad agencies — to incorporate high-quality and engaging mobile video ads in any type of app,” said Zain Jaffer, CEO of Vungle. “We have made a strong investment in our support for Windows 10, which has seen incredible adoption worldwide. With our support of Windows, Vungle becomes the only true cross-platform solution to provide high-quality, high-performing in-app video ads for the three most popular operating systems.”

“Our relationship with Vungle gives Windows developers a high-quality, global solution for monetization and user acquisition and provides our community great tools to monetize and promote their apps,” said Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Developer eXperience & Evangelism. “Vungle’s video ads are engaging, high quality and fit into the experience of the app, ensuring that Windows 10 developers can create premium experiences across all devices.”

Identified as the leader for performance and user retention, the Vungle in-app video advertising platform provides developers access to the highest quality users, leading to increased revenue for publishers. Vungle delivers over 1.5 billion videos to more than 200 million consumers each month in more than 15,000 apps across iOS and Android, with industry-leading viewability and completion rates.

“Bringing Vungle to the Windows 10 ecosystem puts Microsoft on a level playing field with other app platforms,” said Henry Fong, CEO of Yodo1, a publisher and co-producer of popular apps including Crossy Road on Windows. “Now developers have another great way to monetize their Windows apps, and have a market-leading user-acquisition platform.”
