SharePoint Conference 2012 – Axceler, a pioneer in enterprise collaboration governance, administration and migration solutions, today announced two new products to their portfolio: Axceler ViewPoint, a dashboard that allows users to see across multiple collaboration environments to report on who is collaborating, what tools they are collaborating with, and what they are collaborating on; and ControlPoint for Yammer, a new product that enables administrators to easily manage groups, enforce global policies, and analyze activity in their Yammer environments. An alpha release of ViewPoint will be demonstrated at SharePoint Conference 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, November 12-15 in Booth 813.

Axceler Viewpoint provides a single view into an organization’s collaboration environment, identifying which employees are using which collaboration tools, and what content they are collaborating on. The first release of ViewPoint will support both SharePoint and Yammer environments and will be generally available in the first half of 2013. It will offer users a customizable dashboard that will allow them to perform analysis and generate reports on their organization’s use of both Yammer and SharePoint. ViewPoint will also allow users to set policies and manage permissions across both environments.

“The consumerization of IT has allowed non-IT users the ability to download and use tools which they feel are necessary to get their jobs done — without any involvement from IT,” according to Jim Lundy, CEO and Lead Analyst at Aragon Research. “And, the proliferation of social collaboration is changing the way people work — many organizations now have three or more collaboration platforms in use. As adoption of these disruptive collaboration technologies continues to grow exponentially, the potential for IP breaches, reputation risk, and compliance violations dramatically increases.”

ControlPoint for Yammer extends Axceler’s flagship SharePoint administration and governance capabilities to the Yammer collaboration platform. The product will ship in the first half of 2013. Similar to ControlPoint for SharePoint, ControlPoint for Yammer will allow users to control permissions and automate governance of their Yammer environment.

“As a SharePoint administrator, ControlPoint has been nothing short of a miracle,” according to Eric Wells, SharePoint administrator at NYU Medical Center. “I have no doubt that Yammer administrators will find the capabilities of ControlPoint to be a tremendous asset.”

Axceler is currently seeking beta customers for both ViewPoint and ControlPoint for Yammer. Interested parties that are using both SharePoint and Yammer and are interested in participating in the beta program are encouraged to contact Axceler at beta@axceler.com before December 20th, 2012.
