.NET component and control provider SyncFusion has updated its Essential Studio Enterprise Edition with what the company said is the first complete diagramming package built on the HTML5 platform. The new package gives developers the ability to write line-of-business Web applications with diagrams using the standard-based diagramming engine.

“Many in the software industry view HTML5 as one of the leading APIs of the future,” said Daniel Jebaraj, SyncFusion’s vice president, in a statement. “Microsoft’s .NET API and the ASP.NET MVC framework work well when producing HTML5 markup. We have used them together in a way that leverages the power of each platform to provide the richest diagramming package…natively on Web browsers.”

The company also released a Report Definition Language-based reporting solution that frees users from being locked into a vendor-specific reporting format.

Slovakia-based Resco has made available MobileForms Toolkit 2011 Android edition, which provides .NET developers with a set of controls and components for that platform. Among the new Android components are an AdvancedList control; DetailView input control with text, date, time or link input support; month and week calendar scheduling controls; and a TabBar tab control with numerous graphic options, according to the company’s announcement.

ComponentOne has released a collection of installable Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 based on the Silverlight platform. A new OLAP for SharePoint Web Part brings analytical processing to SharePoint. Other Web Parts in the collection are DataGrid, Chart, Maps, CoverFlow and ImageViewer. Each has a designer with a wizard-like menu system to give users the ability to create data views visually. The company offers a free 30-day trial at its website, www.componentone.com.
