Improved charting capabilities that can cross all .NET platforms highlight ComponentOne’s release of Studio Enterprise 2011, the company’s suite of controls for Windows, Web and mobile application development.

The ability to use graphics routines to generate lines and scatter plots in charts for .NET, position chart elements with a new Layer collection, and stack multiple plots areas both horizontally and vertically, expands the company’s offering, according to the announcement of the product.

Greg Lutz, a ComponentOne product manager, said in a statement: “Charts are an integral part of any business application…and I’m particularly excited about the powerful rendering, rich styling elements, animations, and data-binding capabilities added to the WPF and Silverlight charts.”

New to the suite are WPF controls for editing rich text boxes, spell-checking, viewing reports, and carousels. The text editor control enables users to edit and save text as HTML or RTF documents, while the report view lets users load and display any HTML- or PDF-based reports in Windows applications, according to the company’s announcement.

Further, ComponentOne has added Excel-like filtering to its FlexGrid control for Silverlight and WPF, which lets users choose values to be displayed, or specify conditions that must be met by values within the column, the company said. Also, it announced that three new Windows Forms controls have been added to the suite, and existing controls have been enhanced by added grouping functionality to Scheduler for Windows Forms and multi-colored contextual tabs to Ribbon for Windows Forms.
