Vyapin this week released a new version of its DocKIT for SharePoint 2007 migration kit, which the company says is a significant release from the solution’s usability standpoint. A 30-day free trial is available.

Among the new features is a Web Services Component Indicator that lets users know about the existence of the DocKIT Web Services component in the target SharePoint server. This helps avoid Web Services Component mismatches, according to the company. To verify the existence of the component, a user would specify the SharePoint site URL and its corresponding credentials. The component can then be accessed from the Tools menu of DocKIT.

DocKIT for SharePoint 2007 v3.9 also supports form authentication for user validation against a corresponding SharePoint environment; a time-display feature, so users can see how long it’s taking for a task to migrate documents to the target SharePoint library; and a profile manager tool that allows users to define and set their profiles and credentials so they don’t have to be manually created over and over again.
