World Cup fever has hit folks even harder than SharePoint fever has! The Linker, though, has most definitely NOT been caught up in the madness. Soccer might be the world’s game, but it’s not America’s game, despite those Americans who now think it’s somehow hip or chic to say they’re fans of Man U or Real Madrid. Always helpful, though, The Linker has some thoughts on improving the game. 1) Let the players use clubs as they advance downfield. 2) Shorten the field to 40 yards and put it in a steel cage, so the ball is never out of play and players can score from anywhere. 3) If a player is hit with the ball on the fly, he’s out of the game, and the team plays shorthanded—the Dodgeball clause. Now THAT would be worth watching. Until then, I rest my vuvuzela.
