Apache Solr 5.2.0, the open-source NoSQL search platform from the Apache Lucene project, is now available. The latest version comes with full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, database integration, rich document handling, geospatial search, and dynamic clustering.

Other major features include:

  • New “facet.range.method” parameter
  • Rules-based replica assignment
  • An updated stats component
  • Enhanced security
  • A refactored admin UI using Angular JS
  • An updated user manual

In addition, Apache Lucene, the full-featured text search engine library written in Java, also reached version 5.2.0. Highlights of the release include a new query time to the join module, updated span queries, expression support for binding keys, and bug fixes.
