Metalogix, the leading provider of content infrastructure software to improve the use and performance of enterprise content on Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange and Cloud platforms, today announced Metalogix Content Matrix has full support for organizations looking to migrate on-premise file shares and SharePoint content into the newest version of Office 365. Microsoft announced its new Office 365 offerings, including SharePoint Online, for small and midsize businesses and enterprise offerings on February 27.

In the recent SharePoint Content Survey, 45% of SharePoint professionals said they were anticipating moving some or all of their content to Office 365. However, the survey highlighted  that there was a lack of robust migration solutions to the Cloud, and specifically Office 365. Because the traditional “database attached” approach is not available, organizations have commented that it is not feasible to move content to the Cloud manually since the process would be too slow, cumbersome, error prone and result in a loss of content metadata and history.

“The launch of Office 365 will provide organizations with the ability to manage and organize content in the cloud and Content Matrix will make that happen quickly and easily,” said Steven Murphy, CEO, Metalogix. “Content Matrix bridges this migration gap by delivering high-speed and high-fidelity content migration to Office 365 from any previous version of SharePoint (2003, 2007 and 2010) as well as file shares, Exchange Public Folders, blogs and wikis and legacy ECM. Content Matrix provides organizations a gateway to the cloud by moving content with high speed and high fidelity from any previous version of SharePoint directly to Office 365.”

Metalogix Content Matrix enables users to move content to the cloud by connecting on-Premise SharePoint and File Shares with an organization’s Office 365 environment. Content Matrix eliminates the need for multiple products to create hybrid cloud scenarios as it moves content between on-premises and the cloud in either direction with the ability to select what particular content is moved. Thanks to its simple interface, the solution is easy to set up and install and the content organization features make content easy to find during and after a migration. Because Content Matrix migrates with high fidelity, all content is moved with the relevant metadata, permissions and history so end-users can continue collaborating on documents in the cloud as they would with an on-premises deployment. For customers looking to benefit from the new eDiscovery Center, Content Matrix also supports migrating content from Exchange Public Folders to Office 365.

“Our survey findings confirmed that there is significant interest in Office 365, but many organizations are looking toward creating hybrid cloud scenarios between cloud and on-premises,” said Jignesh Shah, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, Metalogix. “With Content Matrix, organizations have the freedom and flexibility to use Office 365 most effectively within their environment and seamlessly move content back and forth between on-premises and cloud.”

Metalogix has supported Office 365 since its inception in 2007, when it was known as BPOS. Metalogix has moved more content than every other ISV combined and was the first migration ISV vendor approved by Microsoft for installation on Office 365 Dedicated after passing the Microsoft SharePoint Online Code Analysis Framework (MSOCAF).
