Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced plans to release Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint later this month, its latest solution designed to empower IT developers with quick and seamless SharePoint change management. With Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint, users can take advantage of automated, controlled and reliable deployment of SharePoint Designer workflows, InfoPath forms, custom lists, metadata schemas, web parts, and workflows in any SharePoint environment.

For SharePoint developers, deploying changes and enhancements can become time consuming and cumbersome. With Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint, developers can easily deploy changes from one SharePoint site to another, or among many SharePoint sites, using the product’s EasyCompare technology.  This feature uses visual cues and color coding to indicate the difference between any pair of SharePoint environments.  In addition, Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint tracks change history to help resolve production issues and comply with best practices.

“Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint provides developers real automation and control for reliably deploying changes within their SharePoint environment,” said Bill Evans, vice president and general manager, SharePoint and Notes Transition, Quest Software. “With Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint, our customers can easily select which enhancements are deployed, and also define when those enhancements are moved from development to testing to production.  This automation replaces manual moves and helps reduce the burden on IT staff.”

Demonstrations of Quest Deployment Manager for SharePoint are available at The SharePoint Technology Conference today through Feb. 9, in booth 501. Quest SharePoint expert and conference keynote speaker Joel Oleson will present two speaking engagements during the conference. The first, “Building Operational Governance in SharePoint 2010 Deployments,” is set for 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. PDT, Tues., Feb. 8, in room 407. The second, “SharePoint 2010 Service Architecture Drill-Down,” is from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. PDT, Wed. Feb. 9, in room 605.
