Workshare, a leading provider of document collaboration software and a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, today announces support for Microsoft Office 365 and other upgrades to Workshare Point, a solution which integrates Microsoft SharePoint with Microsoft Office.

The new version will allow users to connect to a SharePoint Online Server hosted by Microsoft, as part of the cloud-based Microsoft’s Office 365, delivering a seamless SharePoint user-experience.  For smaller companies or departments looking for a low-cost entry-level solution for secure Web-based collaboration, Workshare Point 1.2 will also work with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010. For both services the upgrades to Workshare Point allow users to manage content within their Microsoft Office applications as if they were working with on-premise services.

As a solution that works seamlessly with SharePoint, Workshare Point helps drive SharePoint adoption and enhances the ROI on a SharePoint investment.   To bridge the gap between Microsoft Office and SharePoint repositories, Workshare Point delivers easy email management and content filing.  Users can access, file and manage their documents and emails with Office tools while storing documents on SharePoint.   With its customizable interface Workshare Point also enables the software to become industry or department specific.

Workshare Point 1.2 will provide:
• Ability to preview Outlook messages stored in SharePoint from within Outlook;
• Support for site collections (group of websites that have the same owner and share administration settings), including support for subsites;
• A new SharePoint email folder pane to help improve filing, synchronization and auto refresh when moving content between Outlook and SharePoint;
• Improved auto-profiling which automatically catches metadata from documents and emails and pre-populates the profile pop-up

The new Workshare Point release will also enhance access to Microsoft’s FAST search functionality and be easily accessible in Outlook and the Workshare Point User Interface.

“For more than twelve years customers have relied on Workshare to seamlessly integrate our solutions into Microsoft applications and make document collaboration as easy as possible,” said Scott Smull, CEO of Workshare. “SharePoint continues to gain broad acceptance and we are excited to be helping organizations increase SharePoint adoption by making it easier to work in the Microsoft Office environment.”
