Dynamsoft’s Barcode Reader software development kit (SDK) now includes support for the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) language so developers can easily enable barcode reading from images and PDFs in their PHP applications. This builds upon existing support for .NET web applications and various desktop application languages.
The updated Barcode Reader 4.1 SDK has built-in support for a variety of the most common 1D and 2D barcode symbols. There are nearly 20 different barcode symbols supported. A recent update added support for DATAMATRIX and PDF417 barcode standards. Dynamsoft continually updates the SDK to enhance features and capabilities. Over the past year, updates have added support for a variety of barcode symbology and support for reading barcodes from GIF, BMP, JPEG, PNG and TIFF images. The Barcode Reader SDK can be used as a standalone solution. It can also be used as an add-on to Dynamsoft’s Dynamic Web TWAIN or Dynamic .NET TWAIN SDKs. These SDKs allow full-featured TWAIN scanning and webcam image capture in a web or desktop application, respectively.
In addition to PHP, Dynamsoft’s Barcode Reader 4.1 SDK provides .NET, ActiveX / COM, C, and C++ application programming interfaces (API).
“Adding PHP barcode support will help ensure the Barcode Reader SDK covers even more of our customers’ needs related to their web applications, such as for an online document scanner,” said Amy Gu, Vice President of Dynamsoft. “We’ll continue to add such features and capabilities to ensure maximum flexibility for our customers who need document imaging and processing.”
Dynamsoft’s Barcode Reader SDK allows application developers to almost instantly embed barcode decoding functionality into their web or desktop applications. It requires just a few lines of code instead of coding hundreds to more than a thousand lines from scratch. It saves months of development time. It also significantly reduces development costs and reduces long-term application support costs.
