BZ Media LLC announces Cloud DevCon™, a technical conference and expo for software developers, managers and engineers building applications or architecting systems using Amazon Web Services.

The three-day conference will take place from June 23-25 in Burlingame, Calif. The conference begins with one day of intensive tutorials, followed by two days of keynote speakers, networking opportunities, and more than 30 technical classes on how to build, test and deploy applications in Amazon’s cloud. The conference will also include a tabletop exhibit area for companies selling products and services for Amazon’s cloud computing platform and virtualized infrastructure. More than 500 cloud application developers, software engineers, project managers, business and systems analysts, and cloud architects are projected to attend Cloud DevCon.

Amazon has not publicly released financial information revealing how much revenue the company earns from Amazon Web Services, but it was estimated to be more than US$1.5 billion in 2012 and US$3.8 billion in 2013. Morgan Stanley researchers project that revenue number to skyrocket to $24 billion by 2022.

Cloud DevCon attendees will take advantage of a forum to share ideas and expand their expertise on the platform that has rewritten the book on what cloud computing is capable of. Presentations and tutorials will focus on development topics such as designing scalable and elastic applications on the AWS platform, configuration management, and using data services securely. Classes will range from in-depth looks at the AWS Management Console and AWS Toolkit for Microsoft Visual Studio, to OpsWorks, setting up virtualized environments and Amazon SQS messaging.

David Rubinstein, Conference Chairman of Cloud DevCon and Editor-in-Chief of SD Times, said, “Cloud DevCon offers developers a deep dive into various language SDKs, the Amazon code library, and more-advanced looks at specific services, such as Amazon’s Elastic Beanstalk Platform-as-a-Service and the Management Console for accessing Web services.”

The conference is owned, produced and managed by BZ Media LLC, which publishes SD Times, the magazine for the software development industry. BZ Media also produces AnDevCon, the world’s largest Android developers conference; SPTechCon: The SharePoint Technology Conference; Big Data TechCon; and Wearables DevCon.

Cloud DevCon will also have a tabletop expo area, where companies can demonstrate their products and services for cloud application developers and engineers. For more information on exhibiting or sponsoring Cloud DevCon, please contact Brian Scott, 631-421-4158 x115, or at bscott@bzmedia.com.

The Cloud DevCon Call for Speakers is available online, and submissions will be accepted through Nov. 7, 2014. For information on speaking, contact Conference Chairman David Rubinstein at 631-421-4158 x105, or at drubinstein@bzmedia.com.
