This Mozilla project is a handy library that improves the offline Web app experience by using asynchronous storage (via IndexedDB or Web SQL where available) with a simple API. localForage supports virtually all modern browsers, and includes a localStorage-backed fallback store for browsers with no IndexedDB or Web SQL support.
