Developers are joining the relief effort in the wake of Super Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines last Friday, killing an estimated 10,000 people and devastating the country. Worldwide developer community Geeklist organized a global #Hack4Good hackathon this past weekend, working with the Philippine government to create and rapidly deploy apps and tools to aid in the relief effort.
So far, projects like Rescue Coordination (using the hashtag #RescuePH), area-based relief coordination and a Facebook donation app are already up and running.
Projects are ongoing, and the hackathon is still looking for more developers and designers to help complete projects.
