MapuSoft Technologies announced today that its product OS Changer now includes a Windows Porting Kit to ease the migration of legacy Windows & WinCE applications to a wide variety of target operating systems, including VxWorks® 5x & 6x, Linux® 2.4 & 2.6/RT Linux, LynxOS®, Solaris®, Unix®, eCOS®, Windows XP®/Vista®/CE®/Mobile®, Nucleus®, ThreadX®, MQX®, QNX®, T-Kernel®, uITRON®, Android, NetBSD® and uCOS®. MapuSoft’s Windows Porting Kit supports a wide variety of Win32 API sets.
“With the Win32 Windows Interface, developers can reuse their Windows & WinCE applications on different operating systems, without going through a costly and time consuming manual rewrite process. In addition they can continue developing new applications with the familiar Win32 API, taking advantage of their Windows OS knowledge, and run the applications on many other operating systems,” said Mr. Raj Johnson, President and CEO of Mapusoft Technologies.
The OS Changer Porting Kit provides interfaces to port code from one operating system to another. In addition to Win32, interfaces are available for porting from VxWorks, UNIX/POSIX/Linux, uITRON, Nucleus and pSOS to many target operating systems.
The OS Abstractor Development Kit provides interfaces for new code development. Interface options include the newly available Win32 Interface, as well as MapuSoft’s Cross-OS, POSIX, VxWorks, uITRON, Nucleus and pSOS Interfaces. The code written with the OS Abstractor Development Kit runs on many operating systems so that the applications are protected from changes in the underlying OS.
MapuSoft also provides tools for the Ada programming language. Ada-C/C++ Changer automatically converts Ada code to C/C++. The resultant C/C++ software can be integrated with OS Abstractor to provide portability across a wide variety of OS platforms. The Ada-PAL compiler provides a way to compile Ada code using MapuSoft’s OS PAL (OS Porting and Abstraction Lab) IDE.
