Mimvi, Inc., the leading mobile search and recommendation technology company, today announced it has acquired AndroidRays (www.AndroidRays.com), a popular Android community site reaching tens of thousands of monthly visitors.
“The Android app market is growing faster than iOS, so we’re especially excited about the potential with AndroidRays,” said Mimvi CEO Michael Poutre . “Just like the acquisition of FanAppic, which we announced last week, adding AndroidRays expands our presence in the mobile community.”
Launched in 2012, AndroidRays focuses on Android devices (phones and tablets), apps, tutorials, and other general news and information geared toward the Android operating system. Like FanAppic, it generates revenue primarily through advertising and sponsorships. For a small fee, companies and developers will have the option to accelerate the review of their device or app, and will receive additional marketing support through Mimvi’s web, mobile and social channels.
“We expect that these services will increase our customers’ visibility and grow our revenues,” Poutre said.
“Mimvi is all about discovery,” he continued. “Whether that’s through our Android ” App Search ” app, which reached 50,000 installs in its first three weeks on the market, or through the Mimvi.com search and recommendation site, or our new community and review sites, AndroidRays.com and FanAppic.com.”
