EARNINGS
Compuware reported revenues of US$229.8 million for its third quarter ended Dec. 31, a decline from $268.6 million posted in the same quarter a year ago. Net GAAP income was $24.4 million, down from $34.9 million posted for the third fiscal quarter 2008. In the quarter, the company acquired website performance software maker Gomez for $295 million in cash; the costs of the acquisition and company restructuring are reflected in the numbers.
CA posted revenue of US$1.12 billion for its third fiscal quarter 2010 ended Dec. 31. This is an improvement over the $1.04 billion posted in the same quarter of fiscal 2009. GAAP income for the quarter was $257 million, up from the $208 million generated in the year-ago period. The revenues reflect an additional amount of approximately $10 million from the company’s November 2009 acquisition of NetQoS. CA indicated total bookings for the quarter were $1.37 billion, up 10% as reported from the prior-year quarter, with significant demand seen for its Mainframe 2.0, Identity and Access Management, and CA Wily application performance management products.
