Dynamsoft has released version 9.3 of its ImageCapture Suite software development kit (SDK) which now includes two new add-ons: an integrated rasterizer to convert PDF files into images and a barcode generator to add 1D/2D barcodes to images. The document imaging SDK enables developers to more easily create and deploy web-based document management and enterprise content management (ECM) applications. It’s ideal for users in industries requiring heavy scanning and digital document management like healthcare, finance, government and more.  Dynamsoft is a developer of document imaging SDKs and source control / version control software.

With version 9.3 developers will be able to include the new PDF rasterizer within a web application. It lets users easily convert plain text and image-text PDF documents into a JPEG/TIF/PNG image or image PDF. So, PDF documents can be refashioned for viewing and editing within a web page. Also, the included new barcode generator SDK enables developers to add 1D/2D barcodes to images captured from scanners or webcams. Both new features let users further streamline document workflow. ImageCapture Suite 9.3 also provides a built-in barcode reader and an optical character recognition (OCR) engine.

“In addition to these new capabilities, our previous version of ImageCapture Suite had improved application robustness and security with updates to our Sandbox integration,” said Amy Gu, Vice President of Dynamsoft. “That version also helped ensure compatibility with all mainstream browsers for use on Windows or Macintosh (Mac), which of course carry over into version 9.3.”

Browsers supported include 32-bit and 64-bit Internet Explorer (IE); Firefox; Chrome; Safari; and Opera. Devices supported include TWAIN-compatible scanners and UVC-compatible webcams. For webcams, it supports snapshot grabs from live video streams. The SDK enables developers to create image acquisition web applications using just a few lines of code. This is instead of needing to code hundreds of lines from scratch and also spending months learning the TWAIN and other standards.

The SDK has built-in support for image rotate, crop, zoom in/out, and more. In addition, it features multi-threaded and secure image uploading and downloading to/from a database, file system, SharePoint and more. It also has built-in JPEG, PNG, PDF and TIFF encoders for users to compress acquired images regardless if the TWAIN source has the capability or not. ImageCapture Suite 9.3 works with JavaScript on the client side and ASP.NET (C#); PHP; JSP; ASP; VB.NET on the server side.
