As of this writing, the PlayStation Network is still down. Nobody knows exactly how much damage has been done to Sony’s security reputation, but reading about how vulnerable the network was (for instance, not encrypting personal data, running very old versions of Apache server that were not firewalled), the damage had to be at least severe. Never trust anything that doesn’t have a face (Kevin Butler doesn’t count).
