Accusoft today announces a new release of the Barcode Xpress Mobile software development kits for iOS and Android devices. Enhancements in the new release include read performance and accuracy improvements for several important barcode types and compatibility with new environments.

Developers rely on Barcode Xpress Mobile to build mobile apps that tap the cameras in mobile devices to recognize a wide variety of 1D and 2D barcodes.

Enhancements in version 10 include 64-bit support in the iOS version, for compatibility with Apple’s latest iTunes Store requirements, and support for the Retina displays found in recent-model iPhones and iPads. The Android version now supports the Android Studio V1.1.0 development environment.

Read speed and accuracy for QR, Code 93, Aztec, Royal Post and PDF417 codes has been improved. Apps built with Barcode Xpress Mobile v10 can even read the PDF417 codes used on Ohio drivers licenses that are notoriously tricky.

Through its website, Accusoft offers free barcode scanning apps for iOS and Android devices, built with Barcode Xpress Mobile. A free, easy way to test the superior features and accuracy possible with the SDK, these apps have been updated to reflect the enhancements in version 10.
