In order to help organizations scale agile and collaborate, Tasktop has announced the latest release of its software life-cycle integration platform, Tasktop Sync 3.5.
Tasktop Sync connects agile planning tools with enterprise ALM tools in order to provide organizations with more flexibility and increase oversight and support for agile processes.
“Integration is the No. 1 reason why software development life cycles are not working,” said Dave West, chief product officer of Tasktop.
According to West, 30% to 70% of software projects fail because the disconnect between the life cycle is undermining the ability to deliver software. So, the newest release of Tasktop Sync enables collaboration across all areas involved in the software development life cycle.
“Organizations that adopted agile have multiple tools running, and what we find is that it can cause heartache for the managers as they try to get visibility across these multiple products,” said West.
The release features fully automated enterprise-scale synchronization among tools, enabling team members to share artifacts while working in their choice of tool, and manages and synchronizes relationships among artifacts with the Artifact Relationship Management solution for Agile ALM.
“Integration isn’t just moving the data,” said West. “It is moving the position that data lives in a hierarchy or in the models that the data resides in, in those tools of choice and we had to solve that problem in order to facilitate this connection.”
Other features include real-time metrics that show how teams are collaborating, where work is moving and what tools are being used in order to give managers visibility on how collaboration is happening throughout their teams.
The 3.5 release also updates support for the latest versions of Atlassian JIRA Agile, CA Clarity Agile, HP ALM/Quality Center, IBM Rational Team Concert, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Rally, ServiceNow, and ThoughtWorks Mingle. In addition, support for VersionOne and Zendesk have been added.
