TITUS, a leading provider of security and compliance solutions for email and documents, today introduced the latest version of TITUS Security Suite for Microsoft SharePoint, featuring enhanced mobile access security capabilities.

“As SharePoint becomes an increasingly critical platform for document and records management, administrators and content owners are faced with the challenge of protecting sensitive content and preventing data breaches,” said Tim Upton, Founder, President and CEO of TITUS. “This is increasingly difficult when users require access to SharePoint from mobile devices.”

TITUS Security Suite for Microsoft SharePoint enhances SharePoint security by automating critical functions like managing permissions, limiting mobile access, and applying security labels to documents. This promotes strong, consistent data governance over information stored in SharePoint. TITUS leverages existing document metadata and trusted user claims to ensure that security is applied automatically and consistently across all corporate documents stored in SharePoint.

Because mobile devices are easily lost, stolen or hacked, many organizations deny their users mobile access to SharePoint. In this release of TITUS Security Suite for SharePoint, administrators have the ability to configure secure policies, restricting specific information in SharePoint from being accessed by a mobile device. Without the need for a custom app, TITUS Security Suite for SharePoint can automatically enforce device-specific access permissions, making sensitive documents—that are otherwise available to users on the desktop—invisible and inaccessible from a mobile device.

TITUS Security Suite for SharePoint is comprised of two products. TITUS Metadata Security for SharePoint uses document metadata and trusted attributes (claims) to ensure the right people access the right information from mobile devices and the desktop. TITUS Document Policy Manager automatically converts documents to Adobe PDF and applies visual labels to raise awareness of sensitive content, providing users with education on how to handle sensitive data.
