Accusoft, the leading provider of document, content and imaging solutions, today announces the release of ImageGear Professional v18.1 for Linux and Windows, an enhanced version of the company’s software development kit (SDK) for building image viewing, processing and editing functions into applications for Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux environments.

The ImageGear Professional SDK gives developers the tools they need to add high-performance capabilities such as image editing (including document images), file compression, printing and other features to their applications, and is the image processing SDK of choice for Fortune 500 companies in healthcare imaging, information technology and other industries. Applications built with ImageGear Professional offer viewing and image-editing tools for more than 100 different image file types, including PDF, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, CAD, ABIC check imaging, JPEG XR, the latest camera RAW formats, and many more. ImageGear Professional supports Windows development using DLLs or ActiveX, and shared libraries for Unix/Linux platforms.

Version 18.1 adds more Linux platforms to the broad list already supported, including CentOS 5.9, 6.4 (32-bit & 64-bit), Red Hat Enterprise 5.9, 6.4 (32-bit & 64-bit), and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and 13.10 (32-bit & 64-bit). The new Linux version also now gives developers the ability to add annotation features, and includes support for PDF editing and processing and for medical DICOM images (with the ImageGear Medical expansion toolkit). For Windows 32-bit and 64-bit development, version 18.1 adds updated PDF libraries for better memory consumption management and support for new PDF file versions.
