Akana, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and API Management and Cloud Integration leader, announced today that it has earned the new Microsoft Cloud & Enterprise Software Certification. The certification covers Akana’s family of API management products for use on Windows Server 2012 and the Microsoft platform.
As a member of the Microsoft Partner Network for 10 years, Akana offers full lifecycle management of Microsoft-based APIs and services. Akana’s API management tools help businesses to share data as APIs, connect and integrate applications, drive developer adoption, and monitor and analyze their API usage. Enterprises can use the new solution on Microsoft Azure, on-premise Microsoft environments for internal services, and hybrid cloud scenarios that expose internal services securely to mobile devices or to the cloud. The Akana solution natively integrates with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Azure Service Bus, BizTalk Server, and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
“Microsoft is at the vanguard of cloud and hybrid deployments, which is where so many of our enterprise customers are focused,” said Roberto Medrano, Executive VP, Akana. “For this reason, we are pleased and honored to attain this new certification for our products for Microsoft.”
Akana helps IT professionals manage the planning, development, and deployment of Microsoft-based APIs. Akana Lifecycle Manager, together with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server, enables prioritization and building of APIs based on current and planned needs. At runtime, the Akana API Gateway adds native Microsoft security, transformation, integration, and mediation to APIs, giving developers more time for building APIs and reducing the distraction of building infrastructure. The API Gateway also adds rich monitoring and analytics for runtime services, including real-time system monitoring, alert management, reporting and SLAs, giving users powerful insight into the usage and behavior of Microsoft services.
Akana Intermediary for Microsoft adds powerful network intermediation features to Microsoft environments. With network intermediation, customers developing applications using Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft platform can route API and SOA traffic through a cluster of network independent Intermediary for Microsoft nodes. The Intermediary for Microsoft nodes interacts with front-end consumers such as iOS and Android apps and Microsoft SharePoint portals
