Excel Software today announced QLRT Xcode 1.0 for Xcode developers to protect Mac OS X software. QLRT Xcode is a static library implementation of the QuickLicense runtime software for protection, activation and license management. Xcode programmers can protect their software from piracy and increase revenue by supporting a variety of license types, activation processes and advanced licensing features.
QLRT Xcode is used in conjunction with QuickLicense. The developer configures all aspects of the software license with QuickLicense and builds a tiny encrypted Ticket file. That Ticket file is bound to an application when the QLRT library is dropped into the source code and linked into the application. By focusing on value added customer solutions rather than internal protection, activation and licensing features, the vendor gains programming productivity and deployment flexibility.
Xcode programmers now have a quick, integrated solution for almost any software protection, activation or licensing requirement. Call a simple function to access all commands with fast, streamlined security and no exposed interface. With a small disk and memory footprint, the runtime allows one software build to support Trial, Product, Subscription, Floating and Educational licenses. The activation process for protected software can support manual, semi-automated or fully automated activations through an online activation server.
While one command is sufficient for many applications, the runtime library supports dozens of command strings to access all licensing features available in the QuickLicense system. Runtime commands include license release, license restore, license reset, license suspend, remote enabling of features, field read and write, plus data send and receive through the activation server.
QLRT Xcode is the newest member of the QuickLicense family of software protection and licensing solutions for Mac OS X and Windows software that includes QuickLicense, QuickLicense Server, LicenseSupport, WebActivation and the Safe Activation Service. For example, a protected application built with QLRT Xcode can run on client computers within a customer network controlled by a floating license server generated with the QuickLicense Server product.
A Single User License of QLRT Xcode 1.0 at $495 includes royalty-free runtime distribution rights for any number of protected products or licenses. The package includes a PDF user guide and test application with source code.
