Bamboo Solutions last week introduced a SharePoint 2010 extension, Discussion Board Plus, that brings additional features to SharePoint’s out-of-the-box functionality. The Bamboo component enables users to move important topics to the top of the board with a “sticky” option, as well as to mark or suggest answers as correct, or to search and find answers via a Web Part. Discussion Board Plus includes a tool to migrate postings from SharePoint’s standard Discussion Board, and it lets users add settings and thread moderation options directly to the SharePoint Ribbon, according to the company. Further, the software utilizes Bamboo’s rating column to allow users to rate comments or posts with true/false, five-star or 10-point rating scales.
