Datapolis launched its newest product – Datapolis Workbox 2013. The application allows to quickly implement and maintain even the most complex processes (workflows) and documents flows within the Microsoft SharePoint 2013. The software architecture bases on the Human-Centric model that places people and their decisions at the very heart of business processes. The state workflow model ensures that workflows designed with Datapolis Workbox 2013 are readable and can be quickly modified depending on changing organizational needs. Datapolis Workbox extends SharePoint environment capabilities by eliminating the necessity of using programming tools when deploying workflows. Datapolis Workbox 2013 is fully compatible with the previous version of Datapolis tool which bases on Microsoft SharePoint 2010.

“IT tools that support business processes should include constantly changing business conditions that face modern organizations. Introducing changes in a fast and safe manner can only be guaranteed by solutions that prove to be easily accessible and understandable for IT specialists, analysts and business staff, e.g. HR, financial, marketing, sales department representatives. Most of solutions available on the market base on the process-centric philosophy. It proves effective in environments where work is performed automatically. However, many companies are dissatisfied with just the possibility of process automation. The key issue is to meet business goals. And for those companies we offer a solution that bases on Human-Centric philosophy and a state model. In Datapolis Workbox 2013 the states (process stages) are phases at which people make decisions, while transitions between states (actions) allow users to create small applications which automate selected tasks” – says Paweł Bujak, CEO, Datapolis.

Datapolis Workbox 2013 is a graphical modelling tool that allows users to create and manage workflows within Microsoft SharePoint 2013. It bases on the Human-Centric model that places people, their experience and knowledge at the heart of the process. Datapolis Workbox 2013 allows to easily automate workflows by eliminating the need of coding in process building phase as well as while defining the actions. Separating and hiding actions prepared by IT staff in the separate, technical layer make the business logic clear and understandable for process participants. It is the key issues while modifying and optimizing processes – effects are easily understood by all concerned parties.

Datapolis Workbox 2013 can be easily deployed. Users can interact with workflows using both SharePoint ribbon and element’s context menu. Thanks to this, SharePoint users can operate in a familiar environment. The application interface can be easily integrated with a company Intranet by using existing forms and adjusting the visual aspects of created solutions to the company’s visual identification system.

Datapolis Workbox enables users to supply workflows with data from other sources such as other site collections, external OCR systems or data from e-mails and e-forms. The SQL connector allows to communicate with the database directly from a given workflow. That enables easy Datapolis Workbox 2013 integration with other company’s applications. The workflow data (definitions and workflow history) are stored in a dedicated SQL database which make process analysis possible.

Other Datapolis Workbox advantages covering lookups (possibility of creating advanced queries to retrieve various data stored within SharePoint), procedures (allow to create sets of activities which then can be used in workflow actions) or self-timers (provide possibility to automatically execute a specific action after a defined period of time) significantly expand Microsoft SharePoint functionality. Build-in SharePoint Column Protector allows to manage permissions to columns and elements.
