Qoppa has released a Java library called jOfficeConvert and the latest version of its PDF Automation Server. jOfficeConvert reads and renders Word and Excel documents and converts them to PDF or images, or prints the documents automatically. It uses the Qoppa PDF-to-HTML5 conversion library jPDFWeb to convert Word and Excel documents to HTML / SVG.

jOfficeConvert runs on any platform that supports Java, does not use any third-party software or native calls, and can be used in a server environment as well as integrated into a desktop application.

PDF Automation Server v2017R1 features major enhancements to its Web PDF Viewer Module, Workflow Module, and REST API Module. The PDF Web Viewer has new features including the ability to permanently redact PDFs; fill in interactive form fields; rearrange PDF pages through thumbnail drag and drop; mark up text with text highlight, cross-out, and underline annotations; and stamps to mark documents as approved, confidential, paid, and more. It can also convert PDFs to SVG files.

PAS Workflow Module and PAS REST API Module also include several new PDF features such as PDF/A-1b, PDF/A-2b, & PDF/A-3b conversion, PDF/A and PDF/X validation, Excel-to-PDF conversion, and pAdES digital signatures. Since it is HTML-based it can read and manipulate documents from any browsers and on any platform.
