Ever since he was but a lad in grade school, The Linker has been bewildered by the “fact” that Christopher Columbus “discovered” “The New World.” (The quotation marks are The Linker’s own.) If people already were living there, it already had been discovered, and it wasn’t any “new” world. But as our politicians here in America continue to prove, we don’t let the facts get in the way of a good parade! So thanks, Columbus, for “discovering” the Americas!
