Content life-cycle management software provider Metalogix today announced the acquisition of Syntergy’s SharePoint business, including its replication products and the development team.

The deal broadens Metalogix’s ability to manage, migrate, store, archive and protect enterprise content, according to the company’s announcement of the deal. Further, Metalogix sees replication as a business-critical objective as content levels grow, so Syntergy’s Replicator for SharePoint, a Web-based tool for synchronizing and managing content in real time, gives the company a stronger position in the content management space, it said in the announcement.

Aside from Replication for SharePoint, Metalogix also purchased Connect for SharePoint, Connect for Replicator, Connect for Data Migrations, Connect for ShareLink, and Connect for File System Migration. These tools help organizations make and visualize connections between SharePoint farms, the farms and data, to transform content, select it, add metadata to it, reorganize it, and import it into SharePoint, according to Metalogix.

The Syntergy products will continue to be sold as standalone products, and the Syntergy business will be operated independently at first to ensure a smooth transition as full integration of the operation occurs over the next few months, Metalogix said.

“By adding the leading SharePoint Replication solution to our Migration and Storage product lines, we are able to extend our range, reach and leadership in the SharePoint content mobility market segment. This investment in world-class SharePoint technology and talent achieves another milestone in our strategy to provide our customers a better way to enhance the use and performance of their Microsoft SharePoint platform investment,” said Steven Murphy, CEO of Metalogix, in the announcement. “We further see this as an excellent opportunity to enhance our portfolio of content life-cycle management solutions, and give our customers more choice in how they manage, move, store, archive and protect their SharePoint Content.”

“We believe that Metalogix will bring Syntergy’s breakthrough SharePoint technology to more customers,” said David Seaman, COO of Syntergy, in the announcement. “Replicator for SharePoint has become the leader in the SharePoint replication market, and its ability to allow end users from around the world to work seamlessly on the same content will boost productivity for any organization.”
