Northwoods Software has updated its diagramming software for Java developers. JGo 5.4 improves support for creating thin-client Web applications using JGoWeb and JavaServer Pages. The software helps developers build applications that have interactive diagrams, such as flowcharts, state diagrams, networks, software design tools, workflow editors and other graphical displays.

HP’s load-testing software is now in the cloud. Accessible via Amazon EC2, LoadRunner in the Cloud offers an on-demand, pay-as-you-go model. Load testing is available throughout the entire life cycle and even offers an opportunity for developers to do preliminary load tests. The tool is currently available as a free beta in the U.S., but Amazon cloud charges will still apply.

Accusoft Pegasus has added optical character recognition to its ImageGear for .NET SDK. Version 17 of ImageGear performs OCR in more than 100 languages, and also auto-zones an image into segments by analyzing a document’s structure. This release introduces annotation support for ASP.NET development. This includes mark-ups such as rectangle, ellipse, line or text. Users can interactively edit annotations within a zero footprint viewer.

Version 4.1 of GUIdancer, an automated functional testing tool, offers better support for working with very large test projects, and can also automatically take screenshots when errors occur in tests. The new version is also fully supported to run on Mac OS X. GUIdancer is an Eclipse-based testing tool that allows modular and agile acceptance testing for HTML, Swing and SWT/RCP applications.
