ScaleXtreme, Inc., the leading cloud-based systems management company, today announced the immediate availability of new cloud provisioning and management functionality, offering customers a hybrid-cloud management product that can both provision and manage the lifecycle of machines through the cloud. Using ScaleXtremeTM, customers with VMware vCloud Powered services from cloud-hosting providers such as Bluelock can start managing their deployments within a few minutes. Customers can go to and setup a free account to use this new functionality.

Unlike other products on the market that only provide the ability to provision machines, ScaleXtreme uniquely enables both provisioning of new machines across multiple clouds, and gives customers the ability to maintain those machines throughout the machines’ lifecycle – including configuration management, inventory management, and task automation. In addition, cloud-hosted machines can be managed exactly as internal virtual or physical machines – all through a “single pane of glass” hosted in the cloud.

“ScaleXtreme is unique in that it manages the full lifecycle of machines wherever they might run – on an internal cloud or public cloud,” said Nand Mulchandani, CEO of ScaleXtreme. “With this new functionality, customers don’t have to stitch together multiple products to solve their hybrid-cloud provisioning and system management needs – they can do it all from a single location in the cloud. We’re pleased to be supporting and complementing VMware technology.”

These multiple learning curves, and multiple license fees to each vendor, are unnecessary expenses; ScaleXtreme provides a single view, unifying the management of all of an organization’s servers – spanning private and public cloud machines, different public cloud providers running on any virtualization platform, and even physical machines. VMware vCloud-based service providers can now offer their customers a one-stop-shop for managing all their servers, including those in the cloud and their physical servers on the ground.

“We’re pleased to see ScaleXtreme offer support for VMware vCloud Powered services,” said Mathew Lodge, senior director, cloud services, VMware. “Enabling customers to provision and manage their systems through the open VMware vCloud API is a big win. ScaleXtreme makes it simpler for organizations to scale and manage their VMware server lifecycles, and helps cloud providers with VMware vCloud Powered services offer a richer set of management tools to their customers.”

“As a leader in enterprise technology solutions for companies of all sizes, we’re seeing growing concern in enterprises about the complexity of their infrastructure,” says John Qualls, Founder & Senior VP, Business Development, of BlueLock. “Bluelock recognizes that this is a significant concern in the marketplace, and we see ScaleXtreme’s solutions will bring value to customers through management of the full lifecycle. This further demonstrates our commitment to offering the richest tools to our customers and the power of building on the VMware vCloud platform.”
Gartner Research Director, Alessandro Perilli, said: “Organizations are starting to grapple with managing their existing on-premise systems combined with their virtualized systems, both in private and public clouds. The ability to effectively manage all systems in a hybrid cloud in a consistent fashion from a single tool, will be key in selecting systems management vendors.”
