A group called SharePoint Nation has established itself on Facebook as a place for people to meet, share information and network with each other—minus the perk of free pizza. Today, anyone interested will have a chance to do just that. From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time, SharePoint Nation has arranged a virtual user group meeting.

Geoff Varosky, a senior solutions developer for Grace-Hunt LLC, a Microsoft Gold Partner focusing on SharePoint and Dynamics Solutions, will present his “Creating Custom Actions in SharePoint Session.”

The session will be especially informative for beginner to intermediate users looking to better understand Custom Actions, which controls features in SharePoint such as the Edit Control Block, the Site Actions menu, toolbars, and the links within the Site Settings page. Custom Actions can also be used to extend the SharePoint User Interface.

According to Varosky’s blog, he will describe the basics of Custom Actions while demonstrating how to build one or two before applying them to a site in SharePoint. Resources for additional information will also be provided.
