Simple in design and execution, the new Yahoo Weather app continues to rack up awards. Some of its wins include the Webby People’s Voice Award for Best Visual Design – Aesthetic and the Apple Design Award.
Albert Song, the app’s designer and Senior Design Director for Mobile at Yahoo; and Alex Hanuska, Yahoo’s Senior Engineering Manager, gave an entertaining and informative keynote at BZ Media’s recent Android Developer Conference. Song took the audience through the steps of the design process and showed off some of the early iterations that hit the cutting room floor, while Hanuska elaborated on the engineering that it took to make the final app.
