Less than a month after Google released the Dart 1.0 SDK and announced the language was stable and mature enough for wide Web use, Ecma International is establishing a technical committee to publish a standard specification for the language.
Google announced the standardization in a blog post, marking this recognition by the non-profit standards organization as an important step toward running Dart natively in browsers.

“Dart apps can be fast when compiled to JavaScript, but an embedded Dart VM [virtual machine] enables even better performance,” wrote Chromium product manager Anders Sandholm, speaking of the day when the language is a standard and in wide use, so browser makers will embed the Dart VM in their browsers.
