Google is working on an integrated development environment of its own, and it’s being built using Google’s original programming language, Dart 1.0.
Google’s François Beaufort today announced in a blog post that the Chromium team is working on Spark, a Chrome app-based development environment and toolkit. Spark is still in its earliest stages, but the IDE contains a Polymer-based GUI widgets library available to view on GitHub.
“This is still the very beginning,” Beaufort wrote. “There’s not much we can do for now.”

Google hopes Dart, its new scalable Web app language, will improve upon and ultimately replace JavaScript, and Spark would mark the first significant extension of Dart into programming tools. Since Dart comes with a dart.js utility to convert the software into JavaScript, Spark should have the ability to run on any modern browser.
