Runtime Revolution today released LiveCode Deployment Pack for Apple’s iOS operating system, for iPad and iPhone applications.
Using the new pack and the company’s LiveCode development framework, users can build iOS applications with functions such as shake-motion detection, multi-touch, accelerometer, and photo picker, as well as support for orientation, core location and e-mail, the company said.
In addition to writing and deploying iOS applications, LiveCode can reuse the same code across multiple devices and platforms. Using other deployment packs, LiveCode can also deploy to the Web, desktop, server and additional mobile platforms, such as Windows Mobile.
LiveCode 4.5 was introduced in September after dropping its older moniker, Revolution.
Using a compile-free workflow, LiveCode enables real-time development and changes as an application is running live, explained Runtime Revolution CEO Kevin Miller. It also has a high-level, English-like programming language, which lets users more easily write code, he added.
